Here are answers to some FAQ's:

  • Who can attend?
Answer: Registered Cub Scouts of Pack 446, and Boy Scouts of Troop 446, along with members of their immediate family

  • When should we arrive?
Answer: Families may arrive as early as 12noon on Friday, August 17, 2007. Most happen to depart right after school lets out that Friday. For a few families that can't make it up the hill on Friday night, they may arrive on Saturday morning.

  • What does it cost?
Answer: Funds that pay for this event are raised through Scout-O-Rama ticket sales (by the Cub Scouts) and Computer Swap Meet sales (by the Boy Scouts). No fee is charged to attend.

  • Who puts this on?
Answer: This is our event. The parents and Scouts of 446 contribute their time and energy to make this a very special weekend. We will need help to make this event go. If you are approached to volunteer -- please help.

  • Do we need to bring our own food?
Answer: No, you do not need to bring your own food. The Boy Scouts will be serving an outdoor barbecued dinner on Friday night. The Boy Scouts will be cooking three big meals on Saturday. On Sunday, we will offer a cold breakfast, of cereal, muffins, juice and coffee.

  • Will there be a church service at camp?
Answer: Every year we invite a representative from OLPH to camp, to provide a Sunday Catholic Mass. We will have more information about this in July.

  • Is there shopping nearby?
There is a small market 5 minutes away in Christopher Creek. If you forget something on the way up, your best bet is to stop by the Walmart in downtown Payson.

How to Get There

From Payson, take Highway 260 East approximately 22 miles.
